Mr. Abbott is the Managing Member of Cavett, Abbott & Weiss, PLLC and one of our firm’s three litigation attorneys. Mr. Abbott focuses his practice in the areas of construction, real estate litigation, and business litigation. His civil litigation experience includes construction disputes, bond claims, materialmen’s and mechanics’ liens, title insurance defense, zoning, deed and title disputes, quiet title actions, boundary line disputes, contract disputes as well as a variety of general commercial, real property and business disputes. Mr. Abbott is experienced in representing clients in alternative dispute resolution process including mediation and arbitration.

Mr. Abbott served as an interim municipal judge for the City of Collegedale from October 2003 to March 2005. In 1988 he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army Reserves, where he served for eight years. He is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm, where his unit supported the 101st Airborne Division.

A native of Chickamauga, Georgia, Mr. Abbott has lived in Chattanooga since 1991. He enjoys cooking, barbecuing and spending time with his wife and their two sons.
